Table by the Pier

Let's not go just yet.

We can catch a boat

in the afternoon,

later, when it’s dark.

Just sit with me here

in the glow a while and

tell me your terrible secrets.

I'll carve them in the wood

with my jackknife

for strangers to read

when we're gone.
